HISTORY OF THE EM LAB

 

EM Lab was initially founded in 1975 as "Laboratory of Electronics" and it had the responsibility of the running and maintaining of the electron microscopes and the other peripheral equipment of the Laboratory (Hitachi 12A TEM, Cambridge 150-S SEM, Ultramicrotomes, Coating unit, Critical Point Dryer etc).  The Laboratory was also assisting all other University Laboratories with the repair, maintenance and construction of electronic equipment.

 

In 1996 the "Electronics Laboratory" became "Laboratory of Electron Microscopy" and was upgraded from a Servicing to an Academic unit and was incorporated into the Faculty of Agricultural Biotechnology.  

The EM Lab since 1981 has been providing its services to all the University Departments in the field of Electron Microscopy as well as to other Universities, Research Institutes
