Assoc. Prof. Constantinos Georgiou attended University of Athens for his undergraduate and graduate work. He recieved his B.Sc. in 1984, majoring in Chemistry and his Ph.D. in 1990, majoring in Analytical Chemistry under the guidance of Prof. M. A. Koupparis. During 1991-1995 he was Biochemist in Chief at Agia Eleni Hospital in Athens. His research programs involve automated methods of analysis, development and evaluation of portable analyzers for the food and water industries, analytical Raman spectroscopy, rapid methods for binding studies, total antioxidant capacity detarminations, biosensors, Sol-Gel enzyme immobilization, Scientometrics and development of Analytical and General & Inorganic Chemistry educational materials. The methods he has developed have been used for the quality assessment of olive oil and foods, the determination of pesticides and pharmaceutics in formulations as well as for binding studies of cyclodextrins and proteins with micromolecules. |
