HORTIMED - RESULTS

As the Hortimed project began on March 1^st, there are no results yet. The expected results, however, are the following:

• Increased awareness of the water shortage problem in the med countries.
• Increased water use efficiency to sustain horticultural production in med countries.
• Methods to manage irrigation water use and climate control, under increasing salinity stress conditions.
• Rules of thumb and computer based decision systems for managing irrigation of greenhouses with low quality water, for use by growers, extension officers and regional planners.
