Mr. Dionisios Yfantopoulos, was awarded a Diploma from the Technological Educational Institute of Messolonghi – Department of Greenhouse Crops and Floriculture in 2013 and a M.Sc. Diploma from the Laboratory of Vegetable Production, Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) in 2016. From the beginning of 2017 he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Laboratory of Vegetable Production of Agricultural University of Athens under the supervision of Professor Dimitrios Savvas. His main research interests include issues related to vegetable nutrition and fertilization, vegetable cultivation systems (greenhouse, field), crop rotation schemes, biological nitrogen fixation, greenhouse gas emissions and issues that relate to traditional varieties of vegetables. His bachelor thesis was about the control of warehouse pests with the application of entomopathogenic nematodes and his master thesis was about the comparative assessment of traditional legume varieties (peas and faba beans) in terms of productivity, biological nitrogen fixation efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions. He has published 2 papers in refereed international scientific journals, 1 paper in congress proceedings (Acta Hort.) and 5 abstracts in international and national conferences. He has participated as a member of the Research Group in three European research programs, in particular EUROLEGUME (FP7, 2014-2017), TRUE (H2020, 2017-2020) and TOMRES (H2020, 2017-2020).
