George Zervas

George Zervas graduated (1974) with a BSc in Animal Sciences from the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece). He was appointed as Research Fellow in 1978 at the Dept of Nutritional Physiology and Feeding (Faculty of Animal Sciences and Aquaculture of the Agricultural University of Athens) and from 1980 to 1983 he did his Ph.D. at the Dept of Animal Physiology and Nutrition in Leeds University of UK. He was then appointed as Lecturer (1984), Senior Lecturer (1989), Associate Professor (1996) and Professor (2001) at the Dept of Nutritional Physiology and Feeding of the Agricultural University of Athens. Head (2000-2018) of the Dept of Nutritional Physiology and Feeding and Rector (2004-2010) of the Agricultural University of Athens. President of the Hellenic Society of Animal Sciences (2008-2019) and Vice President of the European Association for Animal Production (2009-2017). Member of the Editorial Board (Livestock Science, Animal Science Review) and reviewer of a number of Animal Science Journals (i.e. Anim. Feed Sci. Technol., Small Rum. Res., Animal, Livest. Sci. etc.). He has over 102 publications and he is actively involved in many international collaborations.
